Snatch Pull Mechanics, Start to Finish

The fault

Not a fault so much as the reference point: how the bar should actually travel from the floor to the hip.

Why it happens

Positions get taught constantly. Moving correctly between them gets taught far less, and that is where most lifters lose the lift. Knowing where position one, two and three are does not help if the path between them is wrong.

The fix

The full breakdown of the pull: where the bar sits at the floor, how the shins clear, what the back angle does through the knee, and where the bar meets the hip. This is the most watched video in the archive by a wide margin and it is the one to start with if you are new here.
