You Lean Forward on the Dip

The fault

The chest travels forward during the dip, which sends the bar out of position before the drive.

Why it happens

The dip is the whole jerk. A dip that goes anywhere but straight down means the drive is fighting the bar's momentum instead of adding to it.

The fix

Straight down and straight up. Keep the torso vertical through the dip so the drive puts the bar back into the slot over the middle of the body.
